Title: Software Engineer II - Applications

Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Description: Under limited supervision, provides program/component design and construction expertise as a technical member of a project team. Defines scope, objectives and design specifications for individual and closely related programs and system components operative in a networked environment. Performs detailed specification, construction, testing, debugging, documentation and related performance enhancement and support tasks.

Requirements: Minimum requirements include a four-year degree with an information technology emphasis and four years experience in the information technology field or any combination of technical training and applicable IT experience that totals eight years is required. Must have knowledge of program/component design and construction tools and techniques. Specific experience requirements: 1. Advanced knowledge of the capabilities and shortcoming of application development and integration tool sets. 2. Advanced knowledge of development methodology and standards. 3. Advanced knowledge of component design, programming, testing and implementation best practices. 4. Advanced knowledge of application development in a web enabled environment. 5. Advanced knowledge of environments using a message bus and messaging services for application integration. 6. Advanced knowledge of multiple software platform concepts, capabilities and integration. 7. Knowledge of information technology standards. 8. Good problem solving skills. 9. Good oral, written, and interpersonal skills. 10. Desired experience with the Java 2 Platform, JBuilder, and Websphere. 11. Desired project management or leadership experience. 12. Desired knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
