Surety 2000

Surety 2000 is a web-based system designed to transmit bid bonds via the Internet. The purpose of Surety 2000 is to deliver a bid security accurately and efficiently to contractors from agents. Currently, CNA Surety is one of the participating sureties of this program. Pilot programs are under way with several users and Illinois DOT has implemented the program.

At the time of approval of a specific bid bond, the contractor receives a twelve-digit random authorization code from the surety agent. The contractor provides the code as part of the bid proposal. Upon accessing Surety 2000 on the Internet, the owner may verify the code and bid security.
